French international Jules Koundé revealed on Tuesday that he maintains constant communication with his Barcelona teammate Lamine Yamal, occasionally correcting "certain details" about his defensive positioning.

"We talk a lot about improving certain aspects, like my overlapping runs to create more space for him, although he knows how to handle himself even when marked by two defenders. We complement each other quite well. Defensively, I talk to him a lot to correct small positioning details," Koundé explained.

Lamine Yamal’s Talent and His Human Side

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Croatia vs. France in the Nations League, the Barcelona defender praised Lamine Yamal, highlighting his talent while also reminding everyone of his youth. "He does exceptional things, but we can’t forget that he’s still a kid who loves to joke around," Koundé said from Clairefontaine training center.

The French center-back emphasized their strong connection both on and off the pitch: "We understand each other very well. Sometimes people forget that, despite his immense talent, he’s still a teenager. He loves making jokes, and that’s great because I do too," he added with a smile.

For Koundé, the 17-year-old Spanish international has the ability to "make the players around him better," a quality that makes him even more special to the team.
