LaLiga’s Pichichi Race: Lewandowski Pulls Ahead of Mbappé
Polish striker Robert Lewandowski played a crucial role in Barcelona’s win over Alavés, scoring his 18th goal of the LaLiga EA Sports season. With this strike, he extends his lead to three goals over Frenchman Kylian Mbappé (Real Madrid), who failed to find the net in his team's loss to Espanyol.
Mbappé Goes Silent as Budimir and Raphinha Apply Pressure
While Lewandowski has now scored in back-to-back games, Mbappé was coming off an incredible run of five goals in two matches but couldn’t add to his tally this round. Meanwhile, Croatian forward Ante Budimir broke Osasuna’s winless streak with a brace against Real Sociedad, tying Brazilian Raphinha (Barcelona) for third place, both sitting at 12 goals.
Spanish international Ayoze Pérez (Villarreal) bagged his ninth goal of the season, drawing level with Kike García (Alavés) and Belgian Dodi Lukebakio (Sevilla). This trio is just one goal ahead of a chasing pack featuring Oihan Sancet (Athletic Club), Norwegian Alexander Sørloth, Frenchman Antoine Griezmann (Atlético de Madrid), Brazilian Vinícius Júnior (Real Madrid), and another French talent, Thierno Barry (Villarreal).
Meanwhile, Argentine Giovani Lo Celso (Betis) remains in the mix with seven goals, while his compatriot Julián Álvarez (Atlético de Madrid) and Brazilian Rodrygo (Real Madrid) are just behind him with six goals each. None of the three found the net this round.
