Laporta Lashes Out at LaLiga over Olmo and Pau Víctor Case
FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta did not hold back and responded forcefully to the statement issued by LaLiga, which claims that the Catalan club does not have the financial capacity to register Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor. During the directors' lunch ahead of the Copa del Rey semifinal match against Atlético de Madrid, the Barça chief described this announcement as an attempt to destabilize the team at a crucial moment in the season.
Laporta expressed his frustration over the timing of the controversy, which erupted just before a decisive match: "We are playing a final against Atlético, and for this kind of issue to surface now is no coincidence. It's yet another strategy to destabilize our team."

Moreover, the Barcelona president suggested that these situations are not accidental but rather intentional efforts to harm Barcelona off the pitch. "Sometimes, I feel that what they can't win on the field, they try to win in the offices," he added firmly.
Legal response and club defense
Far from letting the matter rest, Laporta assured that the club will take action to defend its interests and will respond with the necessary force. He explained that Barcelona's legal team is thoroughly analyzing LaLiga’s statement to prepare an appropriate response.
"We will respond firmly, with as much strength as necessary, to defend the club, our members, fans, and athletes," emphasized the president.
Additionally, he recalled that three months ago, the club had already stated that the registrations of Olmo and Pau Víctor were completed in full compliance with the regulations set by both the RFEF and LaLiga. "We have met all the requirements, and that remains valid," he assured.
This latest dispute between Barcelona and LaLiga once again highlights the tense relationship between the two parties, with Laporta standing firmly by his team at a critical point in the season, making it clear that he will not allow the club’s management to be questioned without a strong response.
