Barcelona's lineup is ready!
Hansi Flick continues to shuffle the deck. With the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid just four days away and the Champions League semifinals looming, the German coach is managing rotations and will field a heavily altered lineup for the LaLiga EA Sports clash this Tuesday against Mallorca at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.
The main changes include the return of Ansu Fati to the starting XI, the presence of Ronald Araújo and Héctor Fort as full-backs, and the absence of Robert Lewandowski, who suffered a muscle injury against Celta that could sideline him for several weeks.
Match Preview: Barcelona vs. Mallorca
This Tuesday’s match will feature a significantly different Barça lineup compared to the one that narrowly defeated Celta 4-3. Szczesny will start in goal, with Araújo, Eric Garcia, Iñigo Martínez, and Fort in defense. The midfield will see Pedri and Gavi pulling the strings, while the attacking line will be composed of Lamine Yamal, Dani Olmo, Ansu Fati, and Ferran Torres.

Meanwhile, Mallorca, aiming for European qualification, will also rotate after a 0-0 draw against Leganés. Leo Román will start in goal, and the team will field Mateu Jaume, Valjent, Raillo, Copete, Mojica, Samu, Mascarell, Antonio Sánchez, Darder, and Larin.
Flick’s new forward plan
The absence of Lewandowski, who has scored 40 goals this season, is a major blow. However, Ferran Torres and Dani Olmo have shown they are capable of stepping up. Ferran scored the opening goal and was a constant threat against Celta, while Olmo netted the 2-3 and earned the penalty that led to the winning goal.
Flick is confident that both players can carry the scoring burden, though he warns they need to be managed properly for the crucial weeks ahead. Backup options include Pau Víctor and Ansu Fati, though neither has had a consistent role this season.
In his pre-match press conference, Flick addressed the visible frustration from some substitutes after the Celta game. He emphasized the importance of team spirit and warned that players must accept rotations for the good of the group.
On a positive note, Marc-André ter Stegen is close to returning from injury and could be back on the pitch soon. As for the match against Mallorca, Flick praised the opponent’s strong season and warned his squad that they’ll need “fresh legs” and full focus to secure another vital three points.
