The matches
Barcelona Celebrate at Home While Villarreal Chase Champions League Spot
With the trophy already in hand, FC Barcelona host Villarreal CF at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. Hansi Flick’s side will look to keep proving why they’re the champions, but the visitors have far more at stake as they push to secure a spot in next season’s Champions League.
While it may look like a celebration for the Catalans, Villarreal can’t afford to drop points, especially with direct rivals like Athletic Club close behind.
Real Madrid and Atlético Still Have Work to Do
Although out of the title race, Real Madrid head to Seville to face Sevilla FC at the Sánchez Pizjuán. In what will be one of Carlo Ancelotti’s final matches in charge, the club may give minutes to young talents like Arda Güler and Endrick, though there’s still pressure to end the season with pride.
Meanwhile, Atlético de Madrid welcome Real Betis looking to lock down third place and avoid last-minute drama. Diego Simeone will want his team to finish strong before shifting focus to the summer transfer window and next season’s European challenges.
