Real Madrid Eyes Two Stars as Possible Replacements if Vinícius Jr. Departs
Real Madrid continues to uphold its firm policy that no player is indispensable — not even Vinícius Jr. The Brazilian star, widely considered one of the team’s key players, is pushing for a salary increase that would place him above Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham, his fellow top earners at the club.
Vinícius Jr. Aims for Mbappé and Bellingham's Salary Level
Despite having a contract until 2027, Vinícius plans to pressure the club this summer for an extension until 2029, along with a significant pay raise. His camp is using a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabian football as a bargaining chip. However, Real Madrid’s president, Florentino Pérez, has shown time and again that he won’t bow to financial demands.
Much like the situation with Cristiano Ronaldo in the past, Pérez could challenge Vinícius to present a formal offer if he truly wishes to leave. The club has reportedly set a release price of €250 million, reflecting the Brazilian’s importance within the squad.
What Will Real Madrid Do If Vinícius Leaves?
If Vinícius opts to exit, Real Madrid has two primary candidates in mind as replacements:
- Nico Williams (Athletic Club) : The most viable option. His transfer fee would be lower than other targets, aligning with the club’s financial strategy. Additionally, his arrival would increase the Spanish presence in the squad.
- Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen) : The 22-year-old German is a creative and skillful talent. His signing could become more likely if Xabi Alonso takes over as Real Madrid’s head coach in the near future.
Florentino Pérez Holds the Reins
Florentino Pérez remains steadfast in his commitment to financial stability. As in previous cases, he will not hesitate to apply the same principles that have defined his leadership. While Vinícius may present his demands, Pérez will have the final say.
With or without the Brazilian, Real Madrid’s priority remains the same: maintaining a competitive squad at the top of European football.
