Real Madrid Faces a Rival in the Battle to Land Jürgen Klopp
While Jürgen Klopp is spending about a year away from the sidelines after closing a historic chapter with Liverpool, his name remains one of the most frequently mentioned when it comes to rumors about coaching big teams—not only in Europe but worldwide. Most recently, he has reportedly been considered for managerial roles with both the Brazil national team and Real Madrid.
Open to Negotiating with Real Madrid or Brazil
According to Brazilian outlet UOL Esporte, people close to the German coach have made it clear that they are open to negotiating with either the Spanish giants or the Brazilian national team. Following Real Madrid’s recent Champions League exit, the club is reportedly considering several names, while Brazil has openly struggled to find the right person to lead its project.
“People in Klopp’s inner circle have stated that he would only consider negotiations with Real Madrid or the Brazilian National Team to start coaching from July onward,” UOL Esporte reported.
Why Jürgen Klopp Left Liverpool
Klopp didn’t leave Liverpool on bad terms. In fact, one of the main reasons for his departure was his incredibly successful nine-year stint with the club. From his perspective, it was simply time to take a break.
This isn’t the first time Klopp has been linked to Real Madrid—and even FC Barcelona has reportedly shown interest in the past. According to several Spanish media outlets, other names in the mix include Xabi Alonso and Zinedine Zidane.
It remains to be seen what Jürgen Klopp’s decision will be. What’s clear is that both projects are incredibly appealing, but they would require him to cut short the well-deserved rest he’s currently enjoying.
