Real Madrid Prepares to Host the NFL at Santiago Bernabéu
Real Madrid plans to carry out new works to accommodate the arrival of the NFL at the Santiago Bernabéu during the month of October
The great project of Florentino Pérez during his second term as president of Real Madrid is taking shape beyond football. His goal was to make the Santiago Bernabéu a multidisciplinary venue to boost the club's revenues, and despite facing various setbacks, it seems that everything is starting to work. On the horizon: hosting the arrival of the NFL in the capital of Spain.

The NFL Chose the Santiago Bernabéu Over the Metropolitano
In recent months, several NFL executives arrived in Madrid with the goal of seeing firsthand the new Santiago Bernabéu stadium after the major renovations it underwent… and they were completely impressed. So much so, that an agreement was reached for an NFL game to be played in 2025.
The date is still pending confirmation, but everything points to it being scheduled for next October. The NFL also visited the Metropolitano, home of Atlético de Madrid, but ultimately, they opted for the Santiago Bernabéu, among other reasons, due to its excellent location, as it is situated in one of the busiest areas of Madrid.
When Will the New Works at the Santiago Bernabéu Begin?
Real Madrid is already prepared to welcome the NFL to Spain. However, according to reports from ‘Relevo’, the club is also aware that they must carry out new works to finalize the accommodation of the Santiago Bernabéu. Specifically, it is said that modifications will need to be made to the first rows of the stadium and, above all, to the locker rooms, as they must be adapted to the number of members that make up an NFL roster.
In principle, coinciding with the 2025 Club World Cup in the United States, Real Madrid is expected to begin these new works at the Santiago Bernabéu once the season ends. Therefore, they will have a long summer of work to get everything ready to meet all the requirements demanded by the NFL.
