Real Madrid youngster who debuted against Barcelona disables comments after El Clásico miss
Real Madrid academy player Víctor Muñoz turned off comments on his social media after receiving a wave of abuse for missing a golden chance in the 89th minute of El Clásico against FC Barcelona—a miss that could’ve leveled the score for Los Blancos.
High-stakes debut
The 21-year-old, born in Barcelona, made his first-team debut on Sunday in one of the toughest matches possible. On his very first touch, he had the chance to equalize in a one-on-one with Wojciech Szczesny, but sent the shot wide. The match ended 4-3 in favor of Barcelona.
After the miss, he was flooded with insults online, prompting him to disable comments on his posts to shield himself from the backlash.

From La Masia to Madrid
Muñoz earned his first senior appearance after a solid season with RM Castilla under Raúl González, where he’s scored 10 goals and assisted 7, playing both as a winger and striker. His pace and dribbling ability have stood out all year.
Interestingly, Víctor Muñoz was born in Barcelona and actually spent a few years in FC Barcelona’s youth academy between 2014 and 2017. He started at San Gabriel, passed through Damm, and has been part of Real Madrid’s youth system since 2011.
It was a tough debut for a player with real potential, who’ll now need to bounce back mentally from a moment that could’ve been a dream but turned into a nightmare.
