Robert Lewandowski Sends Message of Gratitude After Stellar Season With Barcelona
Following FC Barcelona's emphatic 0-3 win over Athletic Club at San Mamés, where he netted a brace, Robert Lewandowski not only wrapped up a strong individual season but also took a moment to directly address the fans with a heartfelt message that emphasized the team’s unity and achievements under Hansi Flick.
“I’m very proud of what we’ve achieved”
In a video shared on the club’s official social media platforms, the Polish striker reassured culés and expressed his pride in the collective effort:
“Hi culés, how are you? I have to say I’m very proud of the team. I’m very proud of what we’ve achieved this season, and I believe you are very happy with what we’ve accomplished on the pitch. Thank you very much for the support. See you next season. Goodbye!”
Three Trophies in One Year for Flick’s Barcelona
Lewandowski highlighted the club’s triumphs in LaLiga, the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup, calling the 2024/25 season “almost perfect” after the final whistle:
“We had a plan to win this last game. In the first half we had everything under control, and in the second, with the two goals, I think we did too. It’s been an almost perfect season and now it’s time to enjoy the moment,” he told DAZN in the mixed zone.
Team Success Over Individual Glory
Despite scoring 27 goals in LaLiga—only trailing Kylian Mbappé (31)—Lewandowski made it clear that winning the league was far more important than the Pichichi Trophy:
“After the injury, I needed time. The most important thing was to win the league,” he stated, reinforcing his commitment to collective goals over personal accolades.
The 35-year-old ended his second season at Barcelona with 34 goals across all competitions, reaffirming his status as a key figure in attack and a leader in the locker room. With his contract still active and the full trust of the coaching staff, Lewandowski is expected to remain a central pillar for Barça heading into the 2025/26 campaign.
