Rodrygo Clears the Air and Addresses His Situation at Real Madrid
The Brazilian forward broke his silence to reassure fans and dismissed rumors about his fitness and future at the club. Rodrygo says he’ll be back soon.
Silence Broken Amid Mounting Speculation
After weeks of uncertainty and growing speculation, Rodrygo Goes has finally spoken out. Through his social media, the Real Madrid attacker thanked fans for their concern and called for an end to the rumors: “Thank you for all the messages and support. I’ll be back soon. Stop making things up.”
The doubts began after the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona on April 26, where Rodrygo was substituted at halftime and hasn’t played since. Against Celta Vigo, Carlo Ancelotti said the Brazilian was sidelined due to a viral illness, yet he returned to the squad list for El Clásico but didn’t feature at all.
The tension grew further when, in a title-deciding match in LaLiga, Ancelotti opted to bring on academy player Víctor Muñoz instead of Rodrygo. Reports later revealed it was the player himself who asked not to play, citing a lack of physical and emotional readiness, a decision that the coach supported.
Ancelotti Insists There Are No Internal Issues
During recent press conferences, Ancelotti has repeatedly stated that there is no conflict with the player: “He’s dealing with physical discomfort, nothing more. There’s no issue between us.”
On Monday, Rodrygo joined the group in training but left after just five minutes, showing discomfort in his right leg—further fueling speculation. That same evening, Spanish media suggested he still didn’t feel fit to return and was even considering a potential exit from Real Madrid in the upcoming transfer window.
To calm the narrative, Rodrygo shared an update from a hyperbaric chamber, reinforcing his message: “I’ll be back soon.” The statement aimed to cool down what had become an increasingly heated discussion surrounding his commitment and status within the team.
As Real Madrid pushes through the final stretch of the season, they hope to recover one of their key attacking weapons in time for the decisive matches. For now, Rodrygo is focused on regaining his form and silencing the noise that has surrounded him in recent weeks.
