They Tried to Ruin Barcelona’s Party… But Not Even Real Madrid Could Stop Them
FC Barcelona were officially crowned 2024/25 LaLiga champions after a commanding 2-0 win over Espanyol, and while there was no traditional celebration on the pitch at the RCDE Stadium, nothing—and no one—could overshadow Hansi Flick’s title-winning team. Not their eternal rivals, not the hostile atmosphere, not even Espanyol’s activated sprinklers.
Another Title… in the Neighbor’s Backyard
Just like in the 2022/23 season, Barcelona clinched LaLiga at their city rival’s ground. Two years ago, that moment ended in chaos, with pitch invasions and tension. This time, Espanyol opted for a less aggressive—but equally controversial—tactic: turning on the pitch sprinklers right as the Barça players began their on-field celebration.
But instead of sparking outrage, Barcelona’s players handled the situation with humor and composure, briefly celebrating while getting soaked before heading to the locker room to continue the party in private.

Nothing Could Stop Barça
Not Real Madrid’s late push, not the derby tension, and not a deliberate attempt to dampen the mood could stop Barcelona’s joy. With this victory, they sealed a domestic treble: Spanish Super Cup, Copa del Rey, and LaLiga.
The title was clinched thanks to a brilliant goal by Lamine Yamal and yet another strong team performance. This marks Barcelona’s 28th LaLiga title, earned in the most symbolic of ways: in enemy territory, under pressure, but with undeniable class.
