What Barcelona Need To Win LaLiga
The team coached by Hansi Flick only depends on itself. Five wins and three draws —including one against Real Madrid— would be enough for Barcelona to secure the title.
The path to the title is clear for Barça
With eight matches left in the season, Barcelona lead LaLiga with 67 points, four ahead of Real Madrid and seven clear of Atlético de Madrid. The math is simple: five victories and three draws —as long as one is in the upcoming Clásico— would secure the league title.
Thanks to their 0–4 win at the Santiago Bernabéu in the first half of the season, Barcelona have the head-to-head advantage. If they manage a draw at home against Real Madrid —in matchday 35 at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys— they’ll retain that edge, which could prove decisive if both teams finish level on points.
In that scenario, Barcelona would end with 85 points. Even if Real Madrid win their remaining seven matches (except the Clásico), they’d also reach 85 but lose the title due to the goal differential. Atlético de Madrid, currently at 60 points, could only reach a maximum of 84 —still one short of Barça— and they also lost the head-to-head against Flick’s side.
A challenging yet manageable schedule
The remaining fixtures for Barcelona include visits to Leganés, Valladolid, Espanyol, and Athletic Club, as well as home games against Celta, Mallorca, Real Madrid, and Villarreal.
While the calendar poses challenges, Barcelona still have control over their destiny. If they manage to beat Real Madrid at home, their margin widens, allowing them to draw three more games against any opponent and still lift the trophy.
That means draws against teams like Celta, Athletic Club, or Espanyol wouldn't prevent them from becoming champions —as long as they do the job in the key match against Madrid.
A potentially historic title
If Barcelona pull it off, it would mark the first LaLiga championship under Hansi Flick, who has kept the squad competitive despite injuries and a tough schedule. It would also mean overtaking Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid in one of the most balanced league races in recent years.
The objective is clear: at least 18 out of the 24 points still available. With the goal differential in their favor and a squad that has stepped up when needed, Barcelona have everything to become champions. But with so much still on the line, every match will be a final.
