When Will Barcelona vs. Osasuna Be Played?
The FC Barcelona vs. CA Osasuna match, which was postponed earlier this month, now has an official rescheduled date. The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has confirmed that the LaLiga EA Sports fixture will take place on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at the Estadio Olímpico Lluís Companys in Barcelona.
Why Was the Match Postponed?
📌 The game was originally scheduled for March 8 but was suspended due to the passing of Dr. Carles Miñarro, a member of Barcelona’s medical staff.
📌 Barcelona requested the match be rescheduled for May, between Matchdays 37 and 38, to avoid conflicts with the FIFA international break.
📌 Osasuna also supported this request, as they were set to play Athletic Club on March 28 in San Mamés.
However, the RFEF rejected the request, citing that the final two matchdays of LaLiga must be played simultaneously to maintain competition integrity.
International Break Complications
📌 Barcelona will lose key players to international duty, including Ronald Araújo and Raphinha, who will be away with their national teams until March 25.
📌 Osasuna’s schedule will also be affected, as their game against Athletic Club has been pushed to Sunday, March 30.
Why Didn’t LaLiga Approve a Later Date?
📌 The RFEF ruled that missing players due to international duty is not a valid reason to delay a domestic league match.
📌 Barcelona’s packed schedule in the Champions League and Copa del Rey made it even harder to find an alternative date.
