Who Is Travis Scott? The Artist Set to Feature on Barcelona's Shirt for El Clásico
FC Barcelona are once again preparing to wear a special-edition shirt for El Clásico against Real Madrid, scheduled for May 11, 2025. According to reports from Diari Ara, Sport, and Mundo Deportivo, the chosen artist this time will be none other than Travis Scott, one of the most influential names in global urban music.
This initiative is part of the club’s groundbreaking partnership with Spotify, which allows the traditional sponsor logo to be replaced by an artist’s name or symbol during high-profile matches.
Who is Travis Scott?
Travis Scott, born Jacques Berman Webster II on April 30, 1991, in Houston, Texas, is a rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer who rose to global fame in the late 2010s. Known for blending hip hop, psychedelia, and electronic music, Scott’s work is also characterized by a strong visual identity, amplified through his Cactus Jack brand.
His discography includes several critically acclaimed and commercially successful albums:
- Rodeo (2015)
- Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight (2016)
- Astroworld (2018), featuring the global hit “SICKO MODE”
- Utopia (2023), released alongside a film titled Circus Maximus
Currently, Scott boasts over 68 million monthly listeners on Spotify, placing him among the most-streamed artists worldwide.
Beyond music, Travis has collaborated with major brands like Nike, McDonald’s, PlayStation, and Dior, and famously headlined a virtual concert in Fortnite that attracted more than 27 million viewers.
What will the shirt look like?
Although there’s no official confirmation yet from the club or Nike, the special kit is expected to feature a design inspired by the Cactus Jack creative universe. The shirt will likely be based on Barça’s 2024/25 home kit and include unique branding elements related to Travis Scott’s artistic style.
If confirmed, Travis Scott would become the sixth artist to appear on Barcelona’s kit under the Spotify agreement, following Drake, Rosalía, The Rolling Stones, Karol G, and Coldplay—a strategy aimed at merging music and football on the world’s biggest stages.
