Will Lewandowski Stay in Barcelona? Here’s What We Know
According to Mundo Deportivo, Robert Lewandowski has reached an agreement with FC Barcelona to extend his contract for an additional season, marking his fourth year with the Catalan club. Although his contract already included an automatic renewal clause if he played at least half of the season’s matches, both parties decided to finalize the deal in advance. If Hansi Flick includes him in the lineup against Rayo Vallecano, the Polish striker will mathematically meet that requirement.
At 36, Lewandowski continues to perform at a high level and has established himself as Barcelona’s main attacking threat. His contributions have been crucial this season, scoring 31 goals in 33 matches across all competitions. In LaLiga, he leads the scoring charts with 19 goals, ahead of Kylian Mbappé (16), while in the Champions League, he has reached the historic milestone of 100 career goals, ranking as the tournament’s third all-time top scorer.
Reuniting with Flick, who managed him during his prime at Bayern Munich, has been key to Lewandowski’s resurgence. Under the German coach, he has regained the lethal finishing ability that made him a Bundesliga legend, now aiming to help Barcelona reclaim its place among Europe’s elite.
A Future Tied to Catalonia
According to Mundo Deportivo, this contract extension, which will see Lewandowski play until nearly 38, is expected to be his final chapter in elite football. There are no plans to extend the deal beyond this new season, confirming that his time at Barcelona will come to an end in 2026.
On a personal level, the striker and his family have settled in Catalonia, making their home in Gavà, south of Barcelona. Alongside his wife, he has launched several business ventures in the city, reinforcing his intention to remain in the region after retiring.

For now, Robert Lewandowski remains fully focused on the rest of this season and the next, determined to continue breaking records and leaving his mark in FC Barcelona's history.
