Real Madrid squad news ahead of Villarreal clash in LaLiga
Rodrygo returns after overcoming the issue he had been carrying since the Spanish Super Cup. The Brazilian forward suffered a knock in the semifinal, forced his way through the final, and subsequently missed three official matches against Albacete, Levante, and Monaco. Although he was not fit in time for the most recent Champions League fixture, he is now ready to return and strengthen the Real Madrid attack.
Brahim Díaz had not played for Real Madrid since December 14, when he featured against Alavés before joining the Morocco national team for the AFCON. After completing two training sessions with the squad, Arbeloa has decided to include him in the list for the LaLiga matchday.
In defense, the coach welcomes back Álvaro Carreras, who missed the Champions League match against Monaco due to suspension, and makes adjustments among the academy players, calling up Diego Aguado and Jorge Cestero.
The Los Blancos continue to deal with significant defensive absences due to injury, with Éder Militão, Antonio Rüdiger, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Ferland Mendy sidelined. Midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni is also unavailable after being suspended for an accumulation of yellow cards.
