Barcelona a club 'where dreams come true', says Rashford
Marcus Rashford is excited about the challenge ahead of him at Barcelona and is relishing his chance to play for the Spanish champions.
Marcus Rashford declared Barcelona is a club "where dreams come true" after sealing his season-long loan from Manchester United.
Rashford fell out of favour under Ruben Amorim at United but has joined Barcelona on a season-long deal, with the Spanish champions having the option to buy him next year for a reported €30m (£26m).
Reports also suggest, however, that Barcelona are currently unable to register Rashford due to their ongoing financial issues.
This is the forward's second loan move in as many seasons, having joined Aston Villa for the second half of the 2024-25 campaign.
And Rashford, who will wear the number 14 shirt, is relishing the chance to play for Barcelona.
"I'm very excited," he said at his unveiling. It's a club where dreams come true. They win big prizes, and what the club stands for really means a lot to me.
"It feels like I'm at home, and it's a big factor in my choice to come here.
"It's a family club and people are comfortable here. It's a good place for good players to showcase their skills."
Barcelona won LaLiga last season in Hansi Flick's first campaign in charge as they finished four points clear of Real Madrid.
They also lifted the Copa del Rey and the Supercopa de Espana trophies, beating Madrid in both finals.
Barcelona were the highest scorers in all competitions among teams in the top five European leagues in 2024-25, netting 174 goals, 22 more than second-best Paris Saint-Germain.
They netted their haul from 145.3 expected goals (xG), an overperformance of 28.7, more than any other team.
Rashford highlighted their style of play as one of the key draws, while also highlighting Flick's role in getting him to Barcelona.
"I always try to make decisive actions and fast dynamic plays, and I always like good football," he said. "I've always been a fan of watching Barcelona play from a young age, like most football fans.
"It's going to be a joy for me to play here, and I am going to enjoy every minute of it. I'm full of excitement and hunger to go out and try and help this team win.
"They won so much last year, and I can see the ambition of the club is to do better than last year.
"For a player, that is what you want to hear because it keeps you improving year-on-year, and that is what you need to be the best version of yourself.
"Hansi Flick is another key factor in the reason I'm here. The conversations I had with him were very positive, and what he did last year was a terrific season, but not just last year.
"In his career, he has proved he is one of the top coaches. To lead such a young team to a very successful season and then to come back to pre-season and still want to do more, it shows me everything I thought I knew about the club, but now, to be here, it is everything I wished and thought.
"I'm eager to get going now and learn the Barcelona way as I go."
