Barcelona Unveils New Kit as Real Madrid Fights for Club World Cup Glory
While Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid capture global attention with their performances in the Club World Cup, FC Barcelona has made headlines in its own way—by revealing their brand-new jersey for the 2025–2026 season. On July 2nd, the Catalan club officially presented their latest kit, opting for a bold design that blends tradition with innovation, both visually and symbolically.

The new blaugrana jersey features five slimmer stripes compared to previous seasons, incorporating a gradient effect where the traditional blue and garnet shades merge at the center of each stripe. Unlike last season’s tribute to the iconic 2008–2009 kit, this edition takes a fresh and daring approach, echoing its campaign slogan: “Let’s define tomorrow.” As the launch video puts it: “We’re not here to follow a path—we’re here to create one.”
The unveiling carries symbolic weight as well, as Barcelona prepares to return to the Camp Nou after a two-year stint at Montjuïc. For this new era, the club gave fans a glimpse of the squad under Hansi Flick through its promotional video.

Star players like Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski, Pedri, Alejandro Balde, and Raphinha all feature prominently. But the standout was Fermín López, a homegrown midfielder who, despite limited minutes last season, seems to have earned the club’s full confidence. Recently linked to Bayern Munich, Fermín chose to stay, and his presence in the campaign sends a clear message: he remains an important part of the project. The young Spanish Olympic and European champion is expected to be part of the squad for La Liga’s return on May 17, away to Mallorca.
Meanwhile, on the other side of Spanish football, Real Madrid continues its campaign at the Club World Cup, with Xabi Alonso facing a major decision: keep breakout star Gonzalo García in the starting lineup or reintroduce Kylian Mbappé, who has recovered from illness. With eyes set on the title, the Madrid side remains focused on results.
Two giants of Spain, taking different paths—Barcelona celebrating identity and renewal, Real Madrid chasing silverware. But both with the same goal: building the future, starting now.
