José Mourinho will have almost his entire squad available for his first official match of the season as Real Madrid visits Espanyol in LaLiga. However, one notable name is missing from the squad: Endrick.

The Brazilian forward has not been called up, although his absence is not the result of a technical decision. Mourinho confirmed that Endrick is dealing with a minor muscular problem that will keep him out of the match.

While Endrick will have to wait, attention will turn to Real Madrid's six summer signings, all of whom could make their official debuts for the club.

Why isn't Endrick playing against Espanyol?

Mourinho explained during his pre-match press conference that Endrick is dealing with "a small muscular issue."

The physical problem rules the Brazilian out of the squad for the LaLiga opener, meaning he will have to wait to officially begin his season.

Aurélien Tchouaméni will also be unavailable. The French midfielder has returned to group training, but Mourinho said he still needs to "speed up the process" of his recovery before returning to competition.

All six Real Madrid signings could make their debuts

The biggest development in Real Madrid's squad is the inclusion of all six summer arrivals.

Dumfries, Konaté, Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, Carlos Espí and Yan Diomande have all been called up and could play their first official minutes for Real Madrid.

The six players are at different stages of preparation after gradually joining preseason training, leaving Mourinho to decide which of them are ready to feature from the start.

Real Madrid's absences against Espanyol

In addition to Endrick and Tchouaméni, Mourinho will be without several players who continue to recover from injuries.

Rodrygo Goes remains sidelined with a serious knee injury; Éder Militao is recovering from a proximal hamstring tendon tear in his left leg; Ferland Mendy has a right rectus femoris tendon injury; Thiago Pitarch remains out with a knee injury; and Asencio is dealing with a muscular injury to his right rectus femoris.
