Flick warns Barca need 90-minute focus to maintain title push
Barcelona have conceded costly late goals on several occasions in recent weeks, causing Hansi Flick to demand greater focus from his team.
Hansi Flick warned Barcelona they must maintain their focus for the full 90 minutes to have any chance of winning LaLiga.
A four-match winless streak has seen the Blaugrana slip to third in LaLiga, six points adrift of leaders Real Madrid and five behind Atletico Madrid in second, ahead of facing Valencia on Sunday.
While Wednesday's incredible 5-4 win at Benfica sealed their place in the Champions League's last 16, they were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw at Getafe last time out in the league.
In two of their previous three league games - a 2-2 draw with Real Betis and a 2-1 loss to Atletico - Barca conceded result-altering goals in second-half stoppage time.
Seven of the 23 goals Barca have conceded in LaLiga this season have been in the 76th minute onwards, with only six teams shipping more goals in that time period.
"In Getafe, it was our fault that we didn't finish the game with the three points. We didn't play very well, we weren't focused," Flick told reporters on Saturday.
"That has to change. We have to be focused from the start and until the end."
Upcoming opponents Valencia are 19th in the table, but have gone unbeaten through their last four games in all competitions, and Flick does not expect an easy ride.
The Barca boss also hinted he could rotate his squad following the midweek trip to Portugal.
"We are well-prepared. Valencia have stabilised their defence, and they know how to play," he said. "It will be a demanding game for us. Their defence is very good. It won't be easy.
"We need fresh legs tomorrow. We have a few changes in the team, and we will see.
"For me, it's very important to win every game. That's how we want to approach it. We always think about the next one. After Valencia, we'll see against Atalanta [in the Champions League]."
