Garcia hoping 'to achieve great things' after finalising Barcelona move
Joan Garcia has high hopes for success after joining Barcelona, where he has signed a six-year contract.
Joan Garcia has laid out his intentions after signing his Barcelona contract, stating he wants to "win as much as possible".
Barcelona announced on Wednesday that they had completed the signing of Garcia from Espanyol for €25m, and the goalkeeper put pen to paper on his six-year deal on Friday.
Garcia made 146 saves in LaLiga last season, the second-most saves in Europe's top five leagues in the last campaign behind Mark Flekken (153).
The 24-year-old also had the eighth-best save percentage amongst goalkeepers who made at least 80 stops, with 73.7%.
Barcelona won the domestic treble in Hansi Flick's first season at the club, claiming the LaLiga, Copa del Rey and Supercopa de Espana titles, and Garcia is eyeing more success with the Blaugrana.
"I'm very happy. I've been looking forward to this day for a long time, and it's finally here," he told the club's media channels.
"Now I have to keep growing as a goalkeeper and win as much as possible. I'm here to achieve some great things with this team, which is why I came here.
"When there's such a young team with such good players, it's an exciting project. I know many of them, and I'm eager to get started."
