Manchester United Breaks Silence After Marcus Rashford’s Arrival at Barcelona
Barça will have one of the most dangerous attacks next season.
Barcelona announced the signing of England international forward Marcus Rashford after he passed his medical, completing an attack that will feature Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski, and Raphinha—potentially one of the most feared in all of Europe.
The 27-year-old English international, who will wear Barcelona’s number 14 jersey, arrived in the Catalan capital last Sunday, passed his medical on Monday morning, and met his new teammates on Tuesday at the Joan Gamper Sports City.

Manchester United sends a message to Marcus Rashford
Manchester United issued a statement after Rashford’s move to Barça was made official, wishing him “good luck,” as seen in their social media post.
“Everyone at Manchester United wishes Marcus good luck for the season,” the statement concluded.
“Marcus spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa in the Premier League, where he played 17 matches and contributed to 10 goals across all competitions,” they added.
Following Nico Williams’ decision to stay with Athletic Club and Liverpool’s refusal to transfer Luis Díaz, Barça has opted to bet on the Manchester forward, a versatile striker capable of playing in all three attacking positions.
The deal, structured as a loan, carries minimal financial risk, with its sporting success hinging on Rashford’s willingness to revive his career. The talented forward has experienced a gradual decline in performance in recent seasons.
Developed in Manchester United’s academy, he broke into the first team at age 18 under Dutch manager Louis van Gaal in 2016 and played continuously at Old Trafford until last winter, when he went on loan to Aston Villa. There, under Spanish manager Unai Emery, he showed strong form, recording 4 goals and 5 assists in 17 appearances.
