The season has only just begun, but the problem is already clear for Endrick.

The Brazilian forward is barely playing.

Real Madrid's official statistics paint a striking picture: one appearance, zero starts and just four minutes on the pitch during the 2026/27 season.

His situation also needs to be understood within the context of the past few months.

Endrick spent the second half of last season on loan at Olympique Lyonnais and returned to Madrid this summer hoping to finally carve out a role. However, an injury during preseason once again delayed his plans.

José Mourinho had already warned at the beginning of September that the Brazilian was not yet physically ready to play more than five or 10 minutes.

Since then, his opportunities have barely increased.

Milan Emerges as a Possible January Destination

And that is where Milan comes into the picture.

According to Italian journalist Carlo Pellegatti, one of the possibilities beginning to emerge around the Rossoneri is a potential loan move for Endrick during the winter transfer window.

There are currently no confirmed negotiations between Milan and Real Madrid, but the scenario could make sense for both sides.

The Brazilian needs to play.

The Italian club, meanwhile, could need another attacking option for the second half of a season in which it is also competing in the Europa League.

Before making any decision, Milan wants to see how its current attack develops.

According to Pellegatti, the performances of Gonçalo Ramos, the minutes earned by Francesco Camarda and the overall situation of Ruben Amorim's team will all be determining factors before the club decides whether it is really worth making a move for Endrick.

Milan Has One Condition Before Moving for Endrick

There is, however, one fundamental point.

If Endrick arrives in Milan in January, he has to be ready to play from day one.

The idea would be a loan lasting only six months, meaning the Rossoneri do not want to spend a significant portion of that period waiting for the Brazilian to regain match fitness, adapt to Italian soccer or fully understand Amorim's system.

That is precisely one of the factors Pellegatti considers decisive.

Milan would have no problem helping develop a player who would eventually return to Real Madrid, as long as the club can make full use of him throughout practically the entire second half of the season.

November could become the key moment to determine whether the operation really begins to take shape.

Ancelotti Also Needs Endrick to Play

There is another major figure watching the situation from afar: Carlo Ancelotti.

Now in charge of Brazil, the Italian needs several of the young players expected to lead the next cycle to accumulate regular minutes at club level.

Endrick represents the most extreme case.

Among the Brazilian players called up who play in Europe, he arrived at this international window having played the fewest minutes this season: just four.

The situation contrasts with the role the forward already had at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the importance he could eventually have in the project leading toward 2030.

Endrick is only 20 years old, and Real Madrid still considers him part of its future. The club even handed him the No. 9 shirt for this season.

His potential is not the problem.

Finding somewhere to play is.

Roma Could Also Enter the Race

Milan may not be alone if Real Madrid opens the door to another loan move.

Pellegatti indicated that Roma is also among the clubs that could be interested in the Brazilian.

There are still more than three months before the winter transfer window opens, and plenty can change.

Endrick could begin receiving opportunities under Mourinho. Gonçalo Ramos could establish himself at Milan. Camarda could demand a bigger role. Even the needs of both clubs could look completely different by the time January arrives.

But the four minutes currently appearing on the Brazilian's stat sheet explain why his name is once again entering the transfer conversation.

Real Madrid does not need to make a decision right now.

Endrick, however, needs something very soon: playing time.

And if that opportunity does not come in Madrid, Milan is already keeping an eye on what could happen in January.
