Raúl Asencio Reaches Deal With Victims in Leaked Sex Video Case
After a Club World Cup to forget and with the entire fanbase calling for his exit, Raúl Asencio has finally received some good news. But it has nothing to do with football… which only adds to the drama.
A nightmare season… and an unexpected break
The 2025 Club World Cup was a complete disaster for Raúl Asencio. With poor performances and relentless media attention, the Real Madrid youth player became a target for fans demanding he be sold. But just when everything seemed lost, a piece of news off the pitch gave him a slight reprieve—and it has nothing to do with his form.
A legal move to reduce criminal responsibility
According to Atlántico Hoy, Asencio’s lawyer, Alfonso Morales Camprubí, has reached an agreement with the victims involved in the sex videos recorded in the south of Gran Canaria, where several players from Madrid’s youth team were filmed having sexual encounters. The goal of the deal is clear: to reduce Asencio’s criminal liability.
The legal strategy aims to classify Asencio’s involvement as a minor offense, which would separate him from the other three players in the case. This charge would carry a financial penalty, not jail time, under Article 197 of the Spanish Penal Code, which protects the privacy of individuals and penalizes the unauthorized sharing of private content.
But the prosecution isn’t letting go
Despite the agreement with the victims, the Public Prosecutor’s Office is not planning to remove Asencio from the legal process. According to Canarias7, prosecutors are still evaluating the final legal classification, but they have already made it clear: the player will stand trial alongside the other suspects. There’s no easy way out.
The threat of prison still looms
The case remains serious. Prosecutors are seeking four years in prison for Raúl Asencio, on charges of breach of privacy and child pornography, since one of the videos involved a minor. For the other accused players—Juan Rodríguez, Ferrán Ruiz, and Andrés García—prosecutors are requesting an additional ten months in prison. This scandal is far from over.
