Valverde Out as Precaution After El Clásico

Real Madrid completed its first training session on Wednesday to prepare for the visit to Racing de Santander, with Thibaut Courtois recovered from flu, but without Fede Valverde, who was substituted against Barcelona as a precaution, or Arda Güler.

The Uruguayan felt discomfort during El Clásico in the back of his right leg. The midfielder played down his problem after the match: "The manager asked me if I could continue and I tried to do so. My leg was bothering me a bit after a tackle I made. It was a little more as a precaution."

On Wednesday he worked in the gym, just like Arda Güler, who played 94 minutes in Barcelona and was replaced in stoppage time by Trent.

Minute's Silence and Work at Valdebebas

The training session began with a minute's silence in memory of those who died in the Toledo train accident. The outfield players worked on the grass at the Valdebebas training ground alongside the goalkeepers, including Thibaut Courtois, now recovered from the flu that kept him out of the Barcelona match.

According to the club, the session, held behind closed doors, consisted of activation exercises on the grass, possession work, attack-defence drills and matches on reduced-size pitches.

Injured players Raúl Asencio and Rodrygo trained on their own. Ferland Mendy again completed training with the group, although he has not yet been included in any squad. Vinícius, despite being absent from the next match through suspension, also trained with his teammates.

Next Challenge

Real Madrid will play the eleventh matchday of LaLiga EA Sports against Racing de Santander on Sunday, the second of a run of four consecutive away games between the domestic competition and the Champions League.

Jose Mourinho's side have won five games in a row since returning from the international break (Villarreal, Roma, Sevilla, Leipzig and Barcelona) and hope to extend that run until the next FIFA window, which begins on 9 November. EFE
