Republic of Ireland striker Parrott joins Real Betis

  • Troy Parrott has thrived in the Eredivisie, and the Republic of Ireland forward will now test himself in LaLiga after joining Real Betis.

Real Betis cannot wait to get started at a "huge club" after he sealed a transfer to Real Betis.

Former Tottenham forward Parrott has joined Betis on a five-year deal from Dutch club AZ, who have received a €20m fee.

Parrott signed for AZ in 2024, and went on to score 30 Eredivisie goals in 59 appearances. Only two players scored more goals in the Dutch top flight in that time - Ayase Ueda (33) and Sem Steijn (34).

The 24-year-old, who netted 31 goals and provided 12 assists in all competitions for AZ last term, has also become a key player for the Republic of Ireland, scoring 11 goals in 37 caps.

"Very happy to be a part of this huge club, can't wait to get going and to make special memories here," Parrott posted on Instagram.

Betis will compete in the Champions League this season after finishing fifth in LaLiga in 2025-26.

They start their season against Real Sociedad on Friday.
