Roony Bardghji signs with FC Barcelona until 2029 and already trains with the first team
A quiet signing… but one that could explode. Roony Bardghji lands at Barça with a dream fulfilled and a golden opportunity: to earn a spot in Flick’s first team during preseason. Are we looking at Barça’s next breakout star?
From childhood dream… to the Barça jersey
At just 19 years old, Roony Bardghji can already cross off a lifelong dream: signing for FC Barcelona. On Tuesday, the Swedish winger penned a deal until 2029 after meeting with Joan Laporta, alongside Rafa Yuste and Deco, in a move the club quickly made official.
Coming from FC Copenhagen, where he played 85 matches, scored 15 goals, and won three league titles and two cups, Bardghji arrives with plenty of promise. He returned in March after a serious knee injury that sidelined him for ten months and is hungrier than ever. At just 17, he made headlines in the Champions League, scoring against Manchester United. Now, he’s living the dream of wearing the Barça colors. And it’s no cliché—there are childhood photos to prove it.
An immediate challenge: impress Flick
Although he’ll start with a Barça Atlètic registration, Bardghji isn’t wasting any time. He’s already completed medical tests with the first team, will join Hansi Flick’s training session this afternoon, and is set to travel to Asia for the summer tour on July 24. His goal is crystal clear: to earn a permanent spot with the senior squad.
Barça paid around two million euros to beat other major European clubs to his signing. Now, the young winger’s mission is to deliver on the pitch… and convince the German coach from day one.
