When Does the LaLiga 2026 Summer Transfer Window Close?
Spanish clubs still have time to complete their final deals after a summer transfer window already filled with blockbuster moves.
The 2026 summer transfer window in Spain will close on Tuesday, September 1 at 11:59 p.m., Spanish peninsular time. Until then, clubs in LaLiga EA Sports and LaLiga Hypermotion can register new players and complete their final deals of the summer.
The window officially opened on July 1, giving Spanish clubs two full months to reshape their squads. Under Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) regulations, the registration period runs until 11:59 p.m. on the final eligible day.
There is still enough time for some major last-minute moves. This has already been a huge summer of spending, headlined by Morgan Rogers' move to Chelsea for €138 million, the biggest deal of the window so far.
The season has started, the shopping hasn't stopped
LaLiga kicked off on August 15, but that did not bring transfer business to an end. The competition began more than two weeks before the window is scheduled to close.
The league calendar and transfer window operate independently, giving clubs an opportunity to assess their squads during the opening matches. Injuries, unexpected departures or early weaknesses can still force teams back into the market.
That overlap also helps explain why the final days of August can become particularly hectic, with clubs racing to complete deals before time runs out.
Different deadlines across Europe's biggest leagues
Most of Europe's major leagues will close their windows around the same period, but not every deadline falls on the same day or at the same time.
- LaLiga: September 1 at 11:59 p.m. in Spain
- Premier League: September 1 at 11 p.m. in the United Kingdom
- Bundesliga: August 31
- Serie A: September 1 at 8 p.m. in Italy
- Ligue 1: September 1 at 7:59 p.m. in France
Those differences can become crucial during deadline day. A player may still be able to move to a league whose transfer window remains open, even after his current league has stopped registering incoming players.
Saudi Arabia keeps the door open
The Saudi Pro League will be one notable exception, with its clubs given additional time to complete their summer business.
Saudi Arabia's transfer window will remain open until September 6, 2026, five days after the Spanish deadline. That means Saudi clubs can continue pursuing players after LaLiga, the Premier League, Serie A, Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga have closed their respective windows.
With several clubs still working on arrivals and departures, September 1 could deliver one final rush of deals in LaLiga before squads are finally set for the 2026-27 season.
