Fabián Ruiz Reveals the Secret to PSG’s Success
A key figure in Paris Saint-Germain’s midfield, Fabián Ruiz shared his thoughts on what has made the Parisian club so solid and unstoppable in recent months. Before the 2025 international break, PSG wrapped up a dream week with two massive wins. First, in the Champions League, they defeated Liverpool at Anfield (1-0) and then won the penalty shootout (4-1). Then, in Ligue 1, they dominated Olympique de Marseille (3-1) at the Parc des Princes. Another testament to Luis Enrique’s outstanding work in building a well-organized, balanced, and perfectly tuned team.
Sitting comfortably atop Ligue 1, through to the Champions League quarter-finals against Aston Villa, and still alive in the Coupe de France, PSG has been steamrolling through the season with spectacular performances. And at the heart of it all, Fabián Ruiz has been a crucial piece.
PSG’s Secret, According to Fabián Ruiz
The Spanish midfielder explained what makes Luis Enrique’s team so dominant: "PSG is one of the best teams in Europe. Last year, we reached the semi-finals, and now we’re in the quarters. We have to keep up this momentum and prove we belong among the best," he told Marca, after providing two assists in the Le Classique win over Marseille last weekend.
He also took the opportunity to highlight the work of his coach and the tactical philosophy he has instilled in the team. "This season, we’ve fully adapted to what the coach wants. It was a radical change, but now we’re in great shape, competing on all fronts," he said.
Moreover, he emphasized the importance of team solidarity: "We play as a unit, and our forwards help us a lot, both in attack and defense. The coach wants us to attack, but always as a collective effort. Not doing so is out of the question—if you don’t do your part, you don’t play. We have a deep squad, and when someone steps in, the team doesn’t miss a beat," he added.
Dembélé in the Form of His Life
If there’s one player who has truly flourished at PSG this season, it’s Ousmane Dembélé. The former Barcelona winger is shining like never before, leaving behind his inconsistency. Instead of skying shots into the stands, he’s now burying them in the back of the net.
With his goal in the Clásico against Marseille, Dembélé has now racked up 30 goals across all competitions, 22 of them in 2025 alone. When Fabián Ruiz was asked about what’s behind Dembélé’s incredible form, he joked:
"Right now, he’s eating less because of Ramadan, but he’s in unbelievable form—not just with the ball, but also without it. He’s showing how smart he is, pressing well and giving everything on the pitch. He’s reaping the rewards of his hard work. The goals have come, but he brings so much more to the team than just that."
