Marquinhos, an Absolute PSG Legend: No One Has More Titles
y securing his 31st title with PSG this Sunday, Marquinhos became the most decorated player in the history of the capital club, surpassing Marco Verratti.
Marco Verratti is now in Marquinhos’ rearview mirror. After securing the Trophée des Champions with Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday thanks to a last-second victory against AS Monaco (1-0), Marquinhos has further cemented his place in the history of the Parisian club. And for good reason.
Starting alongside Willian Pacho in the heart of Luis Enrique's defense, and delivering a commanding and consistent performance in line with his stellar first half of the season, the Brazilian international has not only become the most decorated player in PSG’s history with 31 trophies but also the most decorated in French football history.
Previously tied with Marco Verratti, who amassed 30 trophies during his time in Paris (2012-2023), Marquinhos now stands alone atop this prestigious ranking. This remarkable feat was achieved at the 974 Stadium in Doha during his 464th match in PSG colors.
Since arriving in France in 2013 from AS Roma, the Brazilian captain has become an iconic figure through his natural authority, leadership in the dressing room, and consistently outstanding performances on the pitch.
Marquinhos wants to continue making history
Marquinhos’ impressive trophy haul includes 9 Ligue 1 titles, 7 Coupe de France titles, 6 Coupe de la Ligue titles, and 9 Trophées des Champions. Simply remarkable. With his contract running until 2028, Marquinhos reiterated before the Trophée des Champions that he has no plans to end his illustrious career with the Parisian club anytime soon:
"For now, all my thoughts and motivation are with PSG. We still have important matches to play. I’m very happy and still have a lot to give. I can contribute many things." This intense and passionate relationship between the player and the club is far from over.
