Ousmane Dembélé's Hat Trick Leads PSG to Victory Over Stade Brest
Ousmane Dembélé is on fire! With his second hat trick in just four days, the French winger spearheaded Paris Saint-Germain's win over Brest, getting Luis Enrique's side back on track in Ligue 1 after their recent European success.
Dembélé unstoppable, rewriting the record books
The former Barcelona star is putting up historic numbers: 10 goals in his last 5 games, surpassing Neymar's record of 9 in the same span. In Ligue 1, he now has 14 goals, sitting alone at the top of the scoring charts, two ahead of Marseille's Mason Greenwood.
PSG started strong, dominating possession. Bradley Barcola nearly opened the scoring in the 19th minute, but his shot rattled off the post. The breakthrough came in the 30th minute, when Dembélé tapped in a perfect assist from Barcola (0-1).
Brest fought back, and early in the second half, Romain Del Castillo capitalized on a loose ball in the box to equalize (1-1). But Dembélé wasn’t done. He struck again in the 57th minute, pouncing on a rebound to restore PSG’s lead (1-2). Just five minutes later, he completed his hat trick with a sharp finish from a Kang-In Lee cross (1-3). Ludovic Ajorque pulled one back for Brest (2-3), and they nearly leveled the game with a couple of dangerous chances from Romain Faivre, but Gianluigi Donnarumma came up big with key saves.
Gonçalo Ramos seals the deal
With Brest pushing forward in search of an equalizer, PSG exploited the space. Gonçalo Ramos, who replaced Dembélé, bagged a late brace in the 89th and 97th minutes, securing a 5-2 win and extending PSG’s lead at the top to 13 points over Marseille.
Next up, both teams turn their attention to the Champions League—PSG riding high on momentum, while Brest looks to bounce back after their loss to Real Madrid.
