PSG Loses Its Unbeaten Streak Against Nice
Paris Saint-Germain lost 1-3 this Friday to Nice at the Parc des Princes, marking their first defeat of the 2024-2025 season in Ligue 1. The Parisian team had already secured the league title after defeating Angers on April 5, but could not maintain their unbeaten run in domestic competition.
PSG suffers its first defeat of the season against Nice
The match began with PSG dominating, generating 14 shots, six of which were on target, but they failed to convert any of their chances. It was Nice that took the lead in the 34th minute, when Morgan Sanson capitalized on a defensive mistake to score the opening goal.
PSG responded quickly, and in the 40th minute, Fabián Ruiz equalized with a low shot from an assist by Ousmane Dembélé. With the equalizer, expectations were high for the home team to take control in the second half, but just after the restart, Nice regained the lead. In the 46th minute, Morgan Sanson scored his second goal of the match, putting his team 1-2 ahead.
Despite PSG's attempts to level the score, Nice sealed the victory in the 70th minute with a goal from Youssouf Ndayishimiye, who capitalized on a set-piece situation to make it 1-3.
With this defeat, PSG remains with 78 points in Ligue 1, while Nice moves up to fourth place with 54 points. Luis Enrique Martínez's side will have the chance to bounce back quickly, as they will play against Arsenal in the first leg of the Champions League semifinals next Tuesday, April 29.
