Paris Saint-Germain's Ligue 1 title celebrations will have to wait after Monaco came from behind to beat Nice 2-1 in the Derby de la Cote d'Azur.

With Marseille losing at Reims and PSG hammering Saint-Etienne, a draw between Monaco and Nice in Saturday's late game would have sealed the title for Luis Enrique's team.

Instead, PSG will have to wait a little while longer to get the job done, with Breel Embolo's effort completing the turnaround for Monaco at Stade Louis-II.

Nice led at half-time after Jeremie Boga planted a brilliant header into the bottom-left corner, though matters would have been different had Monaco's Mika Biereth not fluffed his lines from the penalty spot earlier on.

Biereth made amends 10 minutes after the restart, though, lashing in an unstoppable equaliser.

Embolo completed the comeback in the 73rd minute, with Nice's frustration compounded by a late red card for veteran campaigner Dante for a professional foul.

Monaco's victory means they move into second place, 21 points back from PSG with seven games remaining.

Monaco have now taken 16 points from losing positions this season, more than any other team in Ligue 1 in 2024-25.

On the flip side, Nice have lost 19 points from winning positions, the most of any Ligue 1 side this season.

This was Monaco's fifth straight home victory in the league, which is the first time they have gone on such a run in the same season since March to May 2022 (five games).

Monaco have beaten Nice 58 times in all competitions, from 130 meetings. They have only won as many matches against Rennes (58).
