Ousmane Dembélé will take a short break over the coming days after Paris Saint-Germain confirmed that the French forward has been granted rest and will return to training with the rest of the squad next Monday.

The decision was made jointly by head coach Luis Enrique and the sporting department led by Luis Campos, as the club looks to carefully manage the workload of one of its most important players following a demanding summer.

The France international will not be available for the upcoming Ligue 1 match against Lille, meaning the coaching staff will turn to other attacking options for that fixture.

PSG Manage Dembélé's Workload

Dembélé only recently returned to action after representing France at the World Cup and did not complete a full preseason with PSG.

Since the start of the campaign, the forward has gradually been reintegrated into competitive action. He featured in the second half of the UEFA Super Cup against Aston Villa and also played minutes in the French Super Cup against Lens.

He then started against Stade Rennes in the opening Ligue 1 match before being substituted at halftime.

As a result, the club decided to give him a few days to recharge and focus on the demanding schedule ahead.
