Inter Miami Confirms Messi's Injury: What Does He Have and How Long Will He Be Out?
Inter Miami reported what injury Messi is suffering from… but did not provide an estimated recovery time
Yesterday seemed like a calm morning ahead of the FIFA break… until the news broke that Leo Messi would not be able to join Argentina for the South American classics against Uruguay and Brazil. However, Inter Miami took several hours to issue a statement detailing the results of the tests conducted on Leo Messi.

Inter Miami did not confirm a recovery time for Messi
In fact, once Argentina confirmed that Lionel Scaloni's squad would not include him, it was Leo Messi himself who released a statement on his social media lamenting his absence… where he confirmed that, “although it wasn’t a very serious injury, it did require him to rest for a while before returning to play.”
However, the mystery surrounding Messi's injury continues to grow with each passing hour. Especially because, in their official statement, Inter Miami did not reference an estimated period of recovery: “The findings of the exam confirmed the presence of a mild injury to the adductor muscle. Its clinical progression and response to treatment will determine his availability to compete.”
Messi is a doubt for facing Los Angeles FC
Let’s remember that since his arrival in the summer of 2023, this is Leo Messi's sixth injury with Inter Miami… and the second one in just a few weeks of competition this season. In fact, although the club emphasized that it was just some discomfort, Messi was unable to participate in the matches against Houston Dynamo in MLS and Cavalier in the first leg of the Concachampions round of 16.
Now, after returning for the second match against Cavalier and playing the match against Atlanta United, it seems that Inter Miami will not be able to recover Leo Messi for the first matches after the FIFA break. However, they will surely do everything possible to have him available for the match against Los Angeles FC in the quarterfinals of the Concachampions.
