Lionel Messi’s Empire Keeps Growing With New Multi-Million Investment In Barcelona
While preparing for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Lionel Messi continues expanding his fortune away from football.
Messi shakes up the market once again outside football
While continuing to shine with Inter Miami and preparing for what could be his final major adventure at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Lionel Messi keeps building a true business empire away from the pitch.
The Argentine superstar has completed another major investment in Barcelona, the city where he spent most of his legendary career and which remains deeply connected to his personal and financial life. Through his investment company Edificio Rostower, Messi acquired the historic Via Wagner galleries in a deal reportedly worth around €11.5 million.
A historic building Messi wants to transform
The property is located in the exclusive Turó Park area and includes nearly 4,000 square meters of space. The galleries had remained closed since 1993 due to disputes among previous owners, but the complex is now set for a complete renovation under Messi’s business structure.
The project aims to transform the building into a major rental property development, something that has already attracted interest from several top-tier financial operators in Spain. Because of its location and historical value, the investment is expected to become one of the most important real estate moves in the area.

Messi continues expanding his fortune in Spain
This latest purchase comes only weeks after Messi officially completed the acquisition of UE Cornellà, the Spanish football club currently competing in the country’s lower divisions. The move made it clear that the Argentine icon wants to remain strongly connected to both football and the Spanish market beyond his playing career.
In addition, the World Cup champion continues to grow other major businesses, including the MiM Hotels chain developed alongside Meliá Hotels International, as well as several gastronomy projects led by renowned chef Nandu Jubany. Over the years, Messi has expanded his influence into multiple industries, becoming one of the world’s most powerful athletes off the field as well.
Barcelona remains a special place for Leo Messi
Although he currently lives in the United States and plays for Inter Miami, Messi’s connection to Barcelona remains incredibly strong. After spending more than two decades in Catalonia, many of his investments continue to focus on the city that defined both his life and career.
In fact, several financial sectors in Spain believe operations like this also send a powerful message of confidence to Barcelona’s luxury real estate market. While the football world keeps watching his final years on the pitch, Messi continues proving that his financial legacy could become just as massive as his sporting one.
