(VIDEO) All the Goals From the Liverpool vs Arsenal Draw in the Premier League
In a thrilling clash at Anfield, Liverpool and Arsenal played out a 2–2 draw featuring goals from Cody Gakpo, Luis Díaz, Gabriel Martinelli, and Mikel Merino. The match was packed with intensity, controversy, and a red card.
Liverpool Starts Strong
The match began with a dominant display from Liverpool, who struck first. In the 21st minute, Cody Gakpo opened the scoring with a powerful header from a pinpoint cross by Andrew Robertson. Just a minute later, Luis Díaz doubled the lead, finishing a brilliant team play that dismantled Arsenal’s defense.

Arsenal Fights Back and Merino Sees Red
Arsenal didn’t back down and responded early in the second half. At minute 47, Gabriel Martinelli scored with a header after a cross from Bukayo Saka, injecting hope into Mikel Arteta’s squad.
The equalizer came in the 70th minute. Mikel Merino capitalized on a rebound off Alisson to slot home the 2–2. However, Merino’s joy was short-lived—he was shown a second yellow card just ten minutes later for a foul on Dominik Szoboszlai, leaving Arsenal with ten men for the final stretch.
Missed Chances and Controversial Moments
The game wasn’t without controversy. In the first half, Bukayo Saka appeared to be held by Andrew Robertson inside the box, but referee Anthony Taylor and VAR waved off any penalty claims.
Both teams had chances to win it late. Martin Ødegaard came close for Arsenal, while Robertson nearly scored for Liverpool, but neither side found the winner.
With the draw, Liverpool, already crowned Premier League champions, extended their unbeaten home run. Meanwhile, Arsenal secured a valuable point in their battle for Champions League qualification.
