(VIDEO) The Goal That Sinks Manchester United in the Premier League Against Wolverhampton
A brilliant free-kick from Pablo Sarabia was enough for Wolverhampton to defeat a lackluster Manchester United, handing the Red Devils their 15th loss of the Premier League season—matching their worst record in over three decades.
A team lost at Old Trafford
On another disappointing night at Old Trafford, Manchester United failed to deliver once again, falling 1–0 to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Matchday 33 of the Premier League. Rúben Amorim’s side offered very little in attack, producing just one clear chance in the first half.
Not even the introduction of Bruno Fernandes in the second half managed to shift the game’s momentum. The Red Devils looked disorganized, lacking creativity and posing no real threat to the opposing goal.
With this result, Manchester United drops to 14th in the table, level on points with Wolverhampton, in what has become a nightmare campaign for the historic club.
Sarabia stuns United with a moment of brilliance
The decisive moment came in the 77th minute. Pablo Sarabia, who had just come on, stepped up to take a free-kick and delivered a perfect strike over the wall and past André Onana. The goal erupted celebrations among the Wolves players and silenced the home crowd.
The Spaniard’s strike not only secured a crucial victory for Wolverhampton, but also extended their winning streak to five matches—something they hadn’t achieved since 1970. It also completed a season sweep over Manchester United, a feat they hadn’t accomplished since the 1979–80 campaign.
The crisis at United is undeniable. With 15 league defeats, they have matched their worst total since the 1989–90 season. Tactical confusion, poor performances from key players, and lack of cohesion have plagued the team all year.
