(VIDEO) The Goals From Another Manchester United Defeat in the Premier League
Manchester United falls 0–2 to West Ham at home, adding another painful chapter to their Premier League collapse. The Europa League final remains their last shot at redemption.
Manchester United suffered yet another setback in the Premier League, losing 2–0 at Old Trafford to West Ham. With their focus clearly on the upcoming Europa League final against Tottenham, Rúben Amorim’s side once again failed to show any identity or cohesion on the pitch, adding to what has been a disastrous domestic campaign.
Lost in the League, Eyes on Bilbao
With Southampton, Leicester, and Ipswich Town already relegated, Manchester United now fights to avoid finishing 17th—technically the “best” among the worst. Ironically, their opponent in the Europa League final, Tottenham, finds itself in a very similar situation at the bottom of the standings.
Looking ahead to the decisive match in Bilbao, Amorim rotated some of his usual starters. Victor Lindelöf, Harry Maguire, Patrick Dorgu, Casemiro, and Alejandro Garnacho started on the bench, while Noussair Mazraoui, Leny Yoro, Manuel Ugarte, Bruno Fernandes, and Rasmus Højlund featured from the start.

Even with key players on the field, United delivered another lifeless performance—lacking energy, organization, and attacking threat.
Soucek and Bowen Seal the Win
West Ham, who entered the match winless in their last eight, capitalized on United’s defensive fragility. Tomáš Souček opened the scoring in the first half, and Jarrod Bowen doubled the lead after halftime. Both goals came from near-identical plays: poor marking, open space in the box, and finishes without pressure.
The introduction of Garnacho in the second half provided a brief spark. In the 62nd minute, the Argentine winger nearly scored with a volley that found the side netting. Later, a point-blank effort from Højlund was heroically saved on the goal line by Alphonse Areola.
But it was too little, too late. West Ham held firm and handed Manchester United another humiliating loss, one that deepens the crisis heading into the final stretch of the season.
With their league campaign in ruins, United now pins all hopes on winning the Europa League final to salvage something from what’s been one of their worst seasons in recent history.
