Blow to Arabia and Barcelona: Salah Renews with Liverpool!
Liverpool has announced the contract renewal of Mohamed Salah until 2027
On September 1st, after putting on a show at Old Trafford against Manchester United, Mohamed Salah dropped a bombshell by revealing that this would be his last season at Anfield. Over seven months later, the situation has completely changed and, despite interest from Saudi Arabia and Barcelona, Liverpool announced early this morning that Mohamed Salah has renewed his contract until 2027.

Liverpool Makes a Turn on Salah’s Situation
Regarded by many fans as the best player in Liverpool's history and one of the greatest in Premier League history, everything seemed to suggest that Salah’s time at Anfield would come to an end this season once his contract expired. He had stated this himself multiple times, even admitting that he hadn’t been offered a new deal to continue.
With just two months to go until his 33rd birthday, Liverpool considered it too risky to meet Salah’s demands for a three-year contract… while the board was only willing to offer one. However, they have reached a middle ground, and Salah will now extend his stay by two more seasons. “I want to tell our fans that I’m very happy to be here. I renewed because I believe we can win many important trophies together,” said Mohamed Salah.
Van Dijk Will Be the Next to Renew with Liverpool
Without a doubt, Liverpool will be closer to winning major trophies with Salah in the squad. Especially if he maintains the level that has made this the best season of his career… as the player with the most goal contributions across the top five leagues. “Keeping Salah is fantastic news. The club worked really hard to make sure he stayed,” said Arne Slot, fully aware that letting a legend like Salah go for free was unthinkable.
So, little by little, Liverpool’s renewal plans are starting to take shape ahead of the upcoming summer. Trent-Alexander Arnold appears to have everything in place to sign with Real Madrid, while Salah will stay at Anfield for two more seasons. The last one whose future still needs to be settled is Virgil Van Dijk, and according to the English press, there’s already a preliminary agreement in place, which should become official in the coming weeks.
