In an interview with Sky Sports, the Englishman didn’t hesitate to call the Spanish winger the best footballer in the world right now. “I think he’s the best player in the world at the moment. Everything he does on the pitch… just watching him play gives you that special feeling,” he said.

He admires his skill, maturity, and personality: “What he does is insane!”

Palmer was asked about Yamal’s performance during the European semifinals against Inter Milan, where the teenager stood out despite Barça’s elimination. “It’s not just his technique, it’s also his mindset. He’s got unbelievable confidence and he’s not afraid to take risks, even though he’s only 17,” said the attacking midfielder, who’s also having a fantastic season with the Blues.

What impressed the Englishman the most was the way Lamine carries himself in high-pressure games. “It feels like everything revolves around him, and when you watch him play — it’s insane! He’s got confidence, he doesn’t hide, and I just love watching him,” he said with admiration.
