How Long Will Erling Haaland Be Out for Manchester City?
Erling Haaland will be sidelined for five to seven weeks after picking up an ankle injury during Manchester City’s clash with Bournemouth on Sunday.
The Norwegian striker limped off and was later seen on crutches with a protective boot on his foot. After undergoing medical tests, Pep Guardiola confirmed the expected recovery time in a press conference on Tuesday.
"I hope his recovery is as quick as possible so he can return this season. The doctors have told me it will be between five and seven weeks, so hopefully, he’ll be back for the end of the season and the Club World Cup," said the Spanish manager.
City’s Attack Without Haaland & Upcoming Fixtures
With Haaland out, City will rely on Omar Marmoush, their winter signing from Eintracht Frankfurt, who has already contributed five goals and an assist since his arrival.
With their Champions League campaign over and the Premier League title out of reach, Guardiola’s squad will now focus on the FA Cup, where they face Nottingham Forest in the semifinals, and the Club World Cup. They also need to secure a top-five finish in the league to guarantee Champions League qualification for next season. Before his injury, Haaland had racked up 30 goals in 40 appearances this season.
