Is Conor Bradley Going to Replace Trent Alexander-Arnold?
As rumors of Trent Alexander-Arnold leaving his hometown club remain in the spotlight, Liverpool looks for potential signings to replace the right-back.
With Trent Alexander-Arnold potentially leaving Liverpool in a move to Real Madrid at the end of his contract this summer, the Scouse club seems keen to offer Conor Bradley a new contract to replace the right-back star.
Currently, Bradley is under contract with Liverpool until the summer of 2027. In 2023, the club signed him on a four-year deal with a salary of 10,000 dollars per week. Now, Liverpool seeks to offer him a new contract of 96,000 dollars per week until 2030 as Alexander-Arnold’s future in the club remains uncertain.
Conor Bradley’s History with Liverpool
Conor Bradley joined Liverpool’s youth academy in 2019 after training at one of the club’s development centers since he was 9 years old. After just one year in the academy, he signed his first professional contract with Liverpool.
After a successful loan spell at Bolton Wanderers, where he was named Player of the Year, Bradley made his Premier League debut for Liverpool in January 2024, assisting in a 4-0 win over Bournemouth. Later that month, he scored his first goal for the club in a 4-1 victory against Chelsea, where he also provided two assists and earned Man of the Match.
Bradley played a key role in Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Chelsea in the 2024 EFL Cup final, claiming his first trophy. Under manager Arne Slot, he showed standout performances, including in Liverpool’s 2-0 Champions League win over Real Madrid in November 2024, when he won 8 out of 12 duels and completed 9 recoveries.
Could Bradley be Alexander-Arnold’s Replacement?
Conor Bradley’s new contract comes as rumors that Alexander-Arnold is making a move to Real Madrid grow. Liverpool believes Bradley, who transitioned from a winger to a right-back, is a viable option to step into his shoes.
He shares some of Alexander-Arnold's offensive attributes, particularly his ability to contribute to the attack. Defensively, Bradley has already shown solid defensive abilities, excelling in tackling, clearances, and an ability to perform well in duels.
Now Bradley must develop his playmaking skills and crossing accuracy in an effort to to become an effective long-term solution if the club loses Alexander-Arnold.
