Mohamed Salah Breaks Silence: A Sharp Response to Jamie Carragher's Criticism
With his future more uncertain than ever, the Egyptian forward decided to break his silence and respond on social media to Jamie Carragher's criticism.
Mohamed Salah's future at Liverpool is shrouded in uncertainty, with the Egyptian hinting that this might be his final season at Anfield unless significant changes occur. As he approaches the twilight of his time with the Reds, Salah has decided not to hold back in expressing himself, as shown in his recent post on 'X', where he addressed a scathing critique from Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher.
The fiery exchange began after Carragher, now a commentator for Sky Sports, criticized Salah’s performance during the match against Manchester United. In response, Salah took to social media, writing, "I’m starting to think you’re obsessed with me,".
A message accompanied by a video of Carragher discussing a photo Salah had posted on social media, which featured him alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk. Carragher took aim at Salah and Alexander-Arnold, suggesting that they should learn from Van Dijk’s professionalism.
This public spat isn’t the first time Carragher has directed sharp comments at Salah, whose stellar performances often overshadow any criticism. Despite the tensions, Salah’s form this season has been remarkable.
He scored a penalty in the 2-2 draw against Manchester United, bringing his tally to 21 goals and 17 assists across all competitions. His Premier League numbers are equally impressive, with 18 goals and 13 assists in just 19 matches, cementing his importance to Liverpool as they chase the top spot.
As for his future, it remains uncertain. Despite his excellent performances, Salah’s departure seems imminent. With reports suggesting that only a miracle could keep him at Liverpool, a fierce battle for his signature is expected, with top European clubs and Saudi Arabian money poised to make offers for the 31-year-old.
