One of the most frightening moments of the year 2025 unfolded when Rodrigo Bentancur, the Uruguayan midfielder, collapsed and lay motionless on the pitch during the match between Tottenham and Liverpool in the English League Cup.

It was the 6th minute of the match when, after attempting a header from a corner kick, Bentancur fell to the ground and had to be taken off the field. This sudden incident caused alarm among everyone in the stadium. Thankfully, there was an immediate response from the medical staff.
