Salah Close to Breaking this Henry Record
Scoring from the penalty spot in the 2-2 draw between Liverpool and Manchester United, Mohamed Salah equaled Thierry Henry in the historical ranking of the Premier League's all-time top scorers.
Mohamed Salah is hungrier than ever. Although he has decided to leave Liverpool at the end of this season, coinciding with the expiration of his contract, the Egyptian international has once again proven that his uncertain future does not affect his on-field performances. This weekend, he shone again with a spectacular showing during the first half of the season. With a penalty goal in the thrilling clash between Liverpool and Manchester United during Matchday 20 of the Premier League (2-2), the Reds forward further boosted his individual statistics.
With 18 goals and 13 assists in 19 league games this season, Mohamed Salah continues to dominate, cementing his name among the greatest in Premier League history. Since joining the club in 2017 from AS Roma, the 32-year-old has now scored 175 goals in 282 appearances in the English top flight, all while wearing Liverpool's red shirt. This impressive tally highlights his incredible consistency at the highest level and allows him to equal Thierry Henry in the historical ranking of the Premier League's top scorers.
Shearer leads with 260 goals
This latest penalty goal enables Salah to climb another spot in this prestigious list, where he now holds seventh place, tied with the Gunners legend, who achieved this feat in fewer matches (258). Furthermore, Salah still has time to climb higher before his likely departure at the end of the season. Frank Lampard is just two goals ahead (177), while Sergio Agüero, in fifth place, accumulated 184 goals. However, reaching Alan Shearer's record seems out of reach, as the former Newcastle striker set the bar at 260 goals—a number that remains untouchable for now.
