What Happened to Kai Havertz? German Forward to Miss Season for Arsenal
Arsenal forward Kai Havertz will miss the remainder of the season due to a hamstring injury. According to The Athletic, the German suffered the injury during training in Dubai, where the team is making use of the two-week break following their FA Cup elimination and the Champions League pause.
The attacker is still uncertain whether he will require surgery, but his absence is expected to last around four months, ruling him out of Arsenal’s push for the Premier League and Champions League titles.
Major Blow to Arsenal’s Attack
Havertz had become Arsenal’s main attacking reference after Gabriel Jesus suffered a cruciate ligament tear. His absence adds to the injury list, which already includes Bukayo Saka, sidelined until March, and Gabriel Martinelli, who still has another month of recovery ahead.
This season, Havertz has played 34 matches, scoring 15 goals and providing 5 assists.
Arteta’s Options After Transfer Window Closure
With the transfer window closing nine days ago, Mikel Arteta made a late attempt to sign Ollie Watkins but was unsuccessful. Now, the manager will have to rely on Raheem Sterling and Leandro Trossard in attack while awaiting the return of Saka and Martinelli, who are not natural center-forwards.
