Diogo Jota, forward for Liverpool, has left an unforgettable memory in the hearts of fans after the appearance of a video showing him playing with his children on the Anfield pitch. The footage, recorded during the celebration of the 2024/25 Premier League title, reveals a side of Jota away from the pressure of matches, showing the happiness of a father enjoying a day with his family.
A Special Moment at Anfield
The video, published weeks before his tragic death, has gone viral among Liverpool fans. In it, Jota is seen on the pitch at Anfield with his children, sharing laughs and family moments. This spontaneous gesture highlights not only Jota's bond with his family but also the emotional connection he had with the club and its stadium. These personal moments, now more than ever, evoke great nostalgia among fans, who will remember him for his dedication both on and off the field.
The Tragedy That Shocked Football
Liverpool player Diogo Jota, 28, and his brother André, 26, tragically passed away early this morning in a traffic accident on the A52 in Cernadilla (Zamora).
According to investigation sources, the two Portuguese brothers died in a Lamborghini that, for reasons under investigation, veered off the Rías Bajas motorway (A52) at kilometer 65, heading towards Benavente, around 00:40 hours.
Sources consulted by EFE stated that the car might have suffered a blowout while overtaking, causing it to veer off the road and catch fire.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze, which spread to nearby vegetation, and worked with emergency medical services and the Civil Guard, while emergency teams could only confirm the young men's deaths.
The forward Diogo José Teixeira da Silva, known as Diogo Jota, played for Atlético de Madrid in 2016, then moved to FC Porto until 2018, when he joined the English league. He has been a player for Liverpool since 2020.
His brother André Felipe Silva is also a footballer. He plays for Futebol Clube Penafiel, a team in the Portuguese second division.
