Alejandro Garnacho says no to Saudi Arabia… and to his idol Cristiano Ronaldo
He could’ve reunited with his idol in Saudi Arabia… but he chose to keep dreaming in Europe. Alejandro Garnacho turns down Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr offer, and his decision marks a major turning point in his career.
Alejandro Garnacho was one of the most notable absences from Manchester United’s preseason tour in Asia, and speculation over his future quickly intensified. Among the offers he received was one that seemed too good to turn down: a proposal from Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr — the idol of his childhood.
According to The Telegraph, the Saudi club made a formal offer to sign him this summer, but the 21-year-old Argentine declined. Why? Garnacho wants to continue his career in Europe, where he believes he still has plenty to prove.
Big clubs are circling… but United's asking price is steep
Still under contract with Manchester United, Garnacho has reportedly been given permission to explore an exit. The club is asking for around £70 million, though his relatively low wages could make the deal easier compared to other “outcasts” like Rashford, Sancho, or Antony.
Chelsea are reportedly considering a swap deal involving Christopher Nkunku, while Napoli have also shown interest — though finances could complicate things.
United shake-up… and Garnacho looks for his place
The Old Trafford side is looking to move on from several underperforming players. Sancho is being eyed by Juventus, Rashford is rumored to be a Barcelona target, and Antony — who impressed on loan at Real Betis — is also set for a possible exit.
Amid the upheaval, Garnacho is seeking stability, playing time, and a future in top-tier European football. One thing’s clear: his story won’t take him to Saudi Arabia for now… not even to join Cristiano Ronaldo.
